A PARTIAL LIST OF OUR RESPONSIBILITIES TO ONE ANOTHER
(Words in parentheses are from NASB; all others are from NIV. Words in italics are additional and explanatory.)

SUMMARY INSTRUCTIONS:

• Love one another (Jn. 13:34; 15:12, 17; Rom. 13:8; I Thes. 3:12;4:9; Heb. 13:1; I Pet. 1:22; I Jn. 3:11, 16-23;4:7; II Jn. 5; cf. Matt. 7:12).

• Be devoted to one another in brotherly love (Rom. 12:10a).

• Love each other deeply (Keep fervent in your love for one another) (I Pet. 4:8).

SPECIFIC INSTRUCTIONS:

• Be at peace with one another (Mark 9:50; Eph. 4:3).

• Wash one another’s feet (Jn. 13:13-15).

• Honor one another above yourselves (Give preference to one another in honor) (Rom. 12:10b).

• Live in harmony with one another (Be of the same mind toward one another) (Rom. 12:16).

• Do not judge one another (Matt. 7:1; Rom. 14:4, 10-13).

• (Pursue) Make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification (the building up of one another) (Rom. 14:19).

• Accept one another, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God (Rom. 15:7).

• Greet one another with a holy kiss / a kiss of love (Rom. 16:16; I Cor 16:20; II Cor. 13:12; I Pet. 5:14)

• Agree with one another so that there may be no divisions among you and that you may be perfectly united in mind and thought (I Cor. 1:10).

• Wait for one another when you come together to partake the Lord’s Supper (I Cor. 11:33).

• (Care for) Have equal concern for one another (I Cor. 12:25-26).

• Serve one another in love (Gal. 5:13-14).

• Do not bite, devour or destroy (consume) one another (Gal. 5:15).

• Do not become conceited (boastful), provoking (challenging) and envying one another (Gal. 5:26).

• Carry (Bear) one another's burdens (Gal. 6:1-2).

• Be patient and bear with (show forbearance to) one another in love (Eph. 4:1-3; Col. 3:13).

• Put off falsehood / Do not lie to one another; speak the truth in love to one another (Eph. 4:15, 25; Col. 3:9).

• Be kind and compassionate (tenderhearted) to one another (Eph. 4:32a).

• Forgive one another, just as in Christ God forgave you (Eph. 4:32b; Col. 3:13).

• Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs, (singing and making melody with your heart to the Lord) (Eph. 5:19; cf. Col. 3:16 in NAS).

• Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ (Eph. 5:21).

• (Regard one another as more important than yourself by looking out for one another’s interests, not merely for your own) (Phil. 2:4).

• Teach and admonish one another with all wisdom (Col. 3:16).

• Do not wrong (transgress) or take advantage of (defraud) one another by indulging in sexual immorality with another’s spouse (I Thes. 4:3-8).

• Encourage (Comfort) and build up one another daily, so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness (I Thes. 4:18; 5:11; Heb. 3:13; 10:25).

• (Always seek after that which is good for one another instead of repaying one another with evil for evil) (I Thes. 5:15; cf. Rom. 12:17-21; I Cor. 10:24).

• Consider how to spur (stimulate) one another on toward love and good deeds (Heb. 10:24).

• Do not give up meeting together with one another (Heb. 10:25).

• Do not slander (speak against) one another (Jms. 4:11).

• Do not grumble (complain) against each other (Jms. 5:9).

• Confess your sins to one another and pray for one another so that you may be healed (Jms. 5:16).

• Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling (complaining) (I Pet. 4:9).

• Serve one another faithfully with whatever gift of God’s grace you have received (I Pet. 4:10-11; cf. with I Cor. 14:26).

• Clothe yourselves with humility toward one another (I Pet. 5:5).

• Have fellowship with one another (I Jn. 1:7).

• Lay down your life for one another by giving others what they really need (I Jn. 3:16-18
